Petroleos de Venezuela SA, the state oil company, sold 2 million barrels of fuel oil to PetroChina Co. in a spot tender, according to a person with knowledge of the transaction.
PDVSA, as Petroleos de Venezuela is known, awarded the tender on March 8, after it postponed the deadline from March 6, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the information isn't public. It will load the fuel, with a 3 percent sulfur content, from Bonaire port from March 30 to April 1, according to the tender document obtained by Bloomberg News.
Platts reported on March 8 that PetroChina won the sales tender.
